Texas State Baseball: A Pipeline to Success

Texas State Bobcats on the Rise

Texas State baseball has been a dominant force in the Sun Belt Conference in recent years, and the 2024 season is no exception. The Bobcats are currently 15-10 overall and 4-2 in conference play, and they are looking to make a run at the Sun Belt title.

The Bobcats have been led by a strong offense that is averaging over eight runs per game. Junior outfielder Isaiah Ortega is hitting .400 with five home runs and 20 RBIs, and senior first baseman Dalton Shuffield is hitting .350 with four home runs and 25 RBIs. The pitching staff has also been solid, with junior right-hander Tristan Stivors leading the way with a 3.00 ERA and 50 strikeouts in 45 innings pitched.

Texas State will face its toughest test of the season this weekend when they host the Troy Trojans, who are ranked No. 25 in the country. The Trojans are 17-5 overall and 5-1 in conference play, and they will be looking to knock off the Bobcats and take over first place in the Sun Belt.

The Bobcats are confident that they can compete with anyone in the country, and they are looking to prove it this weekend against Troy. If they can win this series, they will send a message to the rest of the conference that they are a team to be reckoned with.
